Plan what goes inside
Make a list of larger items and measure them. Leave room to reach the things you need during the storage period, and group boxes by room with labels facing the aisle. Choose shelving that suits the loads rather than stacking everything to the roof.
Protect your belongings
Ask about the actual container’s weatherproof condition and inspect its floor, doors and seals. Load dry items and plan ventilation and moisture control. Even a watertight container can develop condensation, especially when damp items are packed inside.
Think about the house and driveway
A container fitting beside the house does not mean a delivery truck can place it there. Send photos of the driveway, gate, overhead obstacles and final position. Check council or property-owner requirements before arranging delivery.
For a short job or a long stay
Hire may suit a temporary renovation or move. Buying may suit a longer-term need. Compare the delivered cost and, for hire, the collection cost and terms too.
