Match hire to the job
Tell us what you need to store and your expected timeframe. If the end date is uncertain, explain that upfront so we can discuss the terms and what happens if you need an extension.
Check the full hire cost
Ask for the hire rate, minimum term, billing frequency, delivery and collection charges, GST treatment and any other applicable fees. A low periodic rate is only one part of the total.
Understand your responsibilities
Before agreeing, check notice for collection, access requirements, permitted contents, cleaning and condition on return. Ask about damage, security, insurance and whether your stored goods are covered by your own policy.
Plan both trips
The container footprint is only part of the picture. The truck needs a suitable approach, room to turn and room to unload. Send photos of the road, gate, driveway and placement area. Flag slopes, soft ground, branches and overhead services so the transport team can assess the job.
The truck will need access again at collection. Avoid building fences, structures or landscaping around the container that could prevent removal.
Hire or buy?
