Delivery access in Sunshine Coast
The coastal strip from Caloundra to Noosa is sand under a thin crust, and the same warning applies as on any beach country: it holds a car and it does not hold four corner castings. Put the container on pavers or sleepers. Inland, the hinterland is the real constraint. The climbs to Maleny, Montville, Mapleton and Kenilworth are narrow, steep and heavily cambered, with sections where a long vehicle cannot make the corner regardless of the driver. A 20ft on a tilt-tray gets up most of them. A 40ft on a side loader gets up very few. The third factor is the coastal streets themselves — Mooloolaba, Alexandra Headland and the older parts of Noosa have short frontages, unit blocks either side and street trees over the road, which is standard crane truck territory rather than a refusal.
The hinterland question, before you order
The most useful thing you can do before ringing about a container for a hinterland address is to work out the last two kilometres. Not the distance — the shape. How tight is the sharpest corner, what is the steepest pinch, and is there a section where the road is one lane with a drop on one side.
We can put a 20ft almost anywhere a delivery truck can physically travel, and a crane truck extends that further again. What we cannot do is get a 12-metre container up a road that a 12-metre vehicle cannot turn on. If a 40ft is what the job wants and the road will not take one, two 20ft units side by side give you the same floor area, arrive on a cheaper truck, and can be placed independently — often the better answer anyway.
Why the Coast runs a day or two behind Brisbane
Most Sunshine Coast stock still comes off the Brisbane depots. That is an hour and a half each way, which means Coast deliveries get grouped rather than run individually where we can, and three to five business days is the honest number rather than two to four.
If you need something faster than that, say so when you ring. Sometimes there is a unit already sitting north of Brisbane that suits. Sometimes there is not, and we will tell you that instead of booking a date we cannot hold.

Can you deliver a container to Maleny or Montville?
Yes, with the size chosen to suit the road. A 20ft on a tilt-tray manages the range climbs. A 40ft on a side loader usually cannot, because a 12-metre load will not make some of those corners. If the job needs 40ft of floor, two 20ft units placed side by side is normally the practical answer and it arrives on a cheaper truck.
How much does delivery to the Sunshine Coast add?
Cartage from the Brisbane depots to the Coast is a real cost and we quote it with the container rather than adding it later. What moves the number is the address and the vehicle, not the postcode: a hardstand at Kunda Park is a very different job to a crane lift over a fence at Sunshine Beach. Give us the address and the access when you enquire and the figure you get is the figure you pay.
What size container fits on a standard Coast suburban block?
A 20ft is the usual answer and it needs roughly 6.1m of length plus room to open the doors, about 2.5m of width, and a truck able to line up a straight run at the spot. Where the side access is narrow — and on a lot of the newer Coast estates it is very narrow — a 10ft fits where a 20ft never will.
